Evidencing Progress Against the Standards

Many teachers keep a record of how they are meeting each different teaching standard as evidence they are progressing and acting in a professional manner. They update this throughout the academic year, so there are many entries in each box. Think of this as a reflection and list, rather than an action plan. So, you might put ‘writing reports’ under ‘Engage professionally with parents and communities.’ This shows that they are continuously meeting teaching standards. It is worth placing this table in your teacher portfolio

Now, complete/update the Evidence of Progress Against the Teaching Standards table. This document tracks your learning against the Cambridge Teaching Standards. If your country or region has different standards, then you could create/fill in an equivalent version.

Try to:

  • Use the same document for ALL Teach2030 courses.
  • Complete electronically or download and print.
  • Write in a different colour for each course, if you want.
  • Give specific examples and dates from your teaching to show how your TPD and professional practice is developing from Teach2030 courses.

An example is ‘Standard 3.6: I used Do Now with Form 6 to assess their current knowledge on the geography of Malawi. (Formative Assessment course)’

Remember that once you have taken the steps on your Action Plan to also update the table.
